Evesham Lock

The town of Evesham, situated on the banks of the River Avon, serves as the central hub of the Vale of Evesham. Its origins can be traced back to the establishment of an abbey in the 8th century, which at its peak was one of Europe's largest abbeys. Unfortunately, during the Dissolution of the Monasteries, the abbey was destroyed, leaving only Abbot Lichfield's Bell Tower as a remaining testament.

Visitor Moorings

Usually marked by blue posts, 48 hours maximum.
At busy times it may be necessary for boats to make the best use of the moorings available. Please treat other river users with courtesy and, where necessary, moor close up to the next boat or even breast up alongside. This is particularly important if rising river levels require boats to stop and moor. Mooring in lock landing stages and in lock approach channels is permitted only when locking and at no other time.
